Anton and Gail Buttery, owners of Langmans Restaurant,
receive their award from Rachel Craze of Newquay Fruit Sales, Sponsors
of Restaurant of The Year and Sharron Davies, International Sportswoman.
Langmans Restaurant, Callington, Cornwall,
was awarded Restaurant of The Year 2004 by The Cornwall Tourist
Board, at an awards ceremony hosted by Sharron Davies. This successful
husband and wife team, Anton and Gail Buttery, are no strangers
to this award, receiving Restaurant of The Year 2002, in the Awards
inaugural year and Runner Up 2003. The Award recognises excellence
in all aspects of food preparation and service, together with the
extensive use and promotion of fresh local ingredients.
Chef/Patron Anton takes locally grown and reared
produce to devise a balanced 6 course tasting menu. "Our customers
return time and time again as they love the idea of having their
menu chosen for them. We carefully select the best ingredients available
here in Cornwall to create a great gourmet experience." Gail
and Anton believe excellence is achieved by paying attention to
detail in everything they do. "The standard of food in the
County is rising all the time," says Gail. "More people
are arriving with new ideas, new restaurants are opening and existing
restaurants are improving. The whole standard is lifting year on
year. The Cornwall Tourism Awards are helping the industry focus
on quality, which means that everybody wins."

television personality, added, "I was delighted to be asked
to present this year's Cornwall Tourism Awards. I have so many fond
memories of Cornwall from family holidays and I am also only too
