ABOUT US



This successful husband and wife team comprises of Anton and Gail Buttery. Anton’s introduction to the culinary arts commenced with his basic training in the Army Catering Corps. On his return to ‘Civvy Street’ he was Chef in his parents Hotel and Pub/Restaurant in Newquay. Eight years in Basingstoke increased his commercial experience in various establishments. He has fine tuned his skills by constant research and personal development to a level enjoyed by all visitors to Langmans.

Gail has a very different background. Initially her sales training was in Advertising with Thomson Directories. Success was such that she was able to take a year off in her mid thirties to travel round the world. This was followed by 11 years in Recruitment, again receiving many corporate awards for her achievements. Her skill with customers and desire to provide a warm, friendly, yet professional service means diners feel special every time they visit.

October 2000 saw the realisation of their dream to own their own restaurant. Anton and Gail have established a reputation as a restaurant with excellent food and service.

As recognised by the Cornwall Tourist Board Awards;
'Restaurant of the Year 2002 and 2004, Runner up 2003 and Silver Award 2005.'

On 25th November 2004 Gail & Anton attended the prestigious awards ceremony and dinner hosted by Sharron Davies, at the St Mellion Hotel, Golf and Country Club. Gail and Anton were over the moon to receive the Restaurant of the Year award for the second year running, a true reflection of their on going commitment to Langmans restaurant and quality gourmet food.

Winning the web site of the year runner up was the icing on the cake, the web site has been a constant tool in marketing the business and a valuable asset for Langmans Restaurant customers. A big thank you to Red Snapper Design who created and update the site for us.
